Hey!

I’m Josh, a first year historian at Trinity. As Male Welfare Officer, I’m responsible for making sure that all members of the college are provide with advice and support ranging from contraception and sexual health information to information on the college and university pastoral networks. I hope to be a friendly face around college, and if anybody has any issues or concerns about any topics at all please feel free to come and have a chat! My drop in hours are 4pm-5pm Mondays and 3:30pm- 4:30pm Wednesdays in A10 Angel court, but feel free to come along at any time and I’m sure that we can sort something out. As well as acting as Male Welfare Officer, I am also President of the Men of Trinity – a society that I hope many of you will get involved in over the next year! Please get in touch if you want to chat or need any more information, and hope that you have a good year!

Best wishes,
Josh x

Contraception and Sexual Health Resources
In order to ask for contraception just log on to http://www.tcsu.net/playground/playground to type in your details, and I will make sure that it is deposited in your pigeon hole within 24 hours. Alternatively, I have set up an email account under trinity.men@hotmail.com which anybody can log on and send anonymous messages to (simply send them to the same email) with the password “confidential”. The college provides Chlamydia self-testing kits, rape alarms, condoms and lubrication free of charge to all members, so please get in touch if there is anything you need. I shall leave anything required in my own pigeon hole in the Great Court mailroom within 24 hours in a brown envelope marked “Welfare”. Please take advantage of this!

▪ All the important numbers you need, from the college nurse to the porters’ lodge to local taxi firms, should be pinned on your bathroom doors, particularly in first year rooms. It is a good idea to keep at least one taxi number in your phone at all times.
▪ It is possible to get a dental check-up and hygienist service at the Cambridge Dental Centre for just £15. The number to call to arrange an appointment with them is 01223 332 860

▪ The TIMEOUT Art Group is a free art group for all students of the university. It is held in the art room at Kettle's Yard, Castle Hill, Cambridge (Castle Hill is straight across the traffic lights, up from Magdalene College) every Thursday in term time from 1.30-3.30pm. There is no need to sign up for it. The art room is a light airy space where people can use the wide range of art materials provided, in any way they wish, from making a mess to creating a more structured art work, a great way to relax and have fun. It is facilitated by Carol Davies (cd219) an art therapist at the University Counselling Service.
